This year’s conference will focus on photographs and their place and uses in history organizations. The morning will feature Matthew Isenburg, president of the Daguerreian Society and noted photograph historian, who will explore “How to Read a Historic Photograph.” Our second speaker of the morning, Mary Anne Stets, curator of photography and director of collections business development and intellectual property at Mystic Seaport, will address “Rights and Reproductions.”
Attendees will have six topics to choose from during the three afternoon sessions. The sessions will cover photographs as they relate to the web, PowerPoint presentations, their use through new media, and many more aspects.
The day will conclude with the 2008 Awards of Merit presentation and reception on the beautiful Mystic River waterfront. The Awards of Merit recognize outstanding institutional and individual contributions that further the public’s knowledge of Connecticut history.
