Description
I have been presenting living history programming since 1992, touring with my one woman presentation Victorian Lady since 1996. Garments are authentic or reproduced as non-anachronistically as possible.
I offer three time periods where I dress from the inside out, corset to gloves: 1860s Mid-Victorian; 1890s Late Victorian Gilded Age; or early 1900s Edwardian (early Downton Abbey). For the celebratory year of 2020, on offer is a Suffrage theme within my early 1900s Edwardian program. It includes the reading of the 19th amendment and the path to women getting the right to vote in America. Dressing from corset to gloves in early 1900s garments, as an every day woman on her way to a suffragist march (sash, rosette, banner, etc) I discuss the significance of the movement's colors (purple, white and gold in the US, purple, green and white in England), and some of the important names, (beyond the most famous), of men and women who supported the cause. I also touch on the anti-suffragists and the reasons they gave for their resistance to women getting the vote.

I also offer a Jane Austen themed presentation, Fashion in Fiction, where I dress a male and female mannequin as Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet (getting ready for a ball) from Pride and Prejudice. I am dressed in Regency attire, and along the way talk about Jane Austen’s use of clothing in her novels to delineate class, define character and move plot points and storylines. I also share excerpts from her personal letters.

Fees for programs are based on the distance traveled and length of program. I offer a 1 hour or a 1 1/2 hours length show. The longer show allows for more audience participation and Q & A.
I have a whole packet of information I can drop into the mail which includes reference letters, newspaper articles and details on content.

I have also consulted and created / taught First-Person Interpretive programs and workshops throughout New England and beyond. A full CV is available upon request.

I am also the Producing Artistic Director of the East Haddam Stage Company in residence at Gillette Castle State Park. Our current drama, Osaki-san, William Gillette's Gentleman Valet, launched at the park in 2018 is now available for bookings to historic sites www.EHSCO.org
