Award of Merit...presented annually at the CLHO conference, designed to recognize excellence in the heritage museum and historical society community, given in four categories: exhibits, publications, programs, and individual achievement.
StEPs-CT...a two-year program created with Connecticut Humanities and run in partnership with the Connecticut Historical Society, guides up to 25 organizations towards excellence in six areas of organizational practice. StEPs-CT is based on the "Standards and Excellence Program for History Organizations" (StEPs), a national model curriculum developed by the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH).
Colleague Circles and Workshops...a series of diverse networking and training workshops that bring together colleagues across Connecticut to tackle challenges, share tips for success, and learn new skills. Colleague Circles representing the specific interests of Directors (small to mid-size organizations), Collections & Curators, All-Volunteer Organizations, and Museum Educators (in partnership with the CMER, the Connecticut Museum Educator's Roundtable) are currently meeting.
