Join the Connecticut Museum Educator Roundtable and the Connecticut League of History Organizations as we explore ideas and strategies for better serving young visitors with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Our presenters will be Donna Swanson, Executive Director of FOCUS Center for Autism, who will speak to us about working with this audience, and Linda Friedlaender, Senior Curator of Education, and Jaime Ursic, Assistant Curator of Education, at the Yale Center for British Art, who will speak about the YCBA’s access programs Exploring Artism: A Program for Families and Artworxx: A Program for Teen Girls with Autism Spectrum Disorders. There will be plenty of time for questions, discussion, and brainstorming about how your own organization can serve this audience better. We hope to see you there!
Registration is free and there is ample free parking (enter either from Asylum or Elizabeth Streets.) Feel free to bring your lunch. Questions? Contact Liz Shapiro at liz@clho.org.
Online registration deadline is Monday January 23.
