CLHO's third Summer School session answers important collections questions.

As stewards of our historic resources and cultural heritage materials, we are responsible for the long-term preservation of our collections materials. But how to handle different types or materials can be confusing.

  • Unsure about when to wear gloves?
  • How to store oversized textiles?
  • The best way to shelve and display bound volumes?
  • How to display historic clothing?

Using a relaxed and straightforward approach Bexx Caswell-Olson and Camille Myers Breeze will guide you through proper care and handling techniques for a wide variety of collections materials including documents, works of art on paper, photographs, bound volumes, historic clothing, quilts, and other textiles.

Participants:

  • Bexx Caswell-Olson, Directory of Book Conservation Northeast Document Conservation Center
  • Camille Myers Breeze, Director & Chief Conservator, Museum Textile Services
