Museum Makeover: Free info session!

Is your museum interested in a bit of a refresh? Looking to update your exhibits, improve your collections storage, and improve the visitor experience to reach a broader audience? Then the Museum Makeover program is meant for you!

Join Museum Makeover coordinator Kathy Craughwell-Varda and CLHO executive director Amrys Williams to learn more about this free program, how to apply, and have your questions answered. This virtual Colleague Circle will be recorded and the video uploaded to our YouTube channel afterward.

About Museum Makeover: Connecticut's Museum Makeover program will provide 12 cultural heritage organizations with two free site visits from a team of museum curators who will examine the exhibit areas, period rooms, or collection storage areas and develop a plan to improve these areas and elevate the visitor experience. Members of these cultural heritage organizations will be actively involved in all phases of Museum Makeover and will work closely with the Traveling Curators to implement the recommendations. Each participating institution will receive up to $3,000 to help cover the costs of upgrading exhibition and storage areas. In addition, all participants will receive a free consultation with a marketing professional who will provide guidance on how they can promote the transformations completed through the Museum Makeover program.

Museum Makeover is a program of Conservation ConneCTion and is supported through a partnership with the Connecticut League of History Organizations and funded by a grant from the CT Cultural Fund. The CT Cultural Fund is administered by CT Humanities, with funding provided by the Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development/Connecticut Office of the Arts from the Connecticut State Legislature.
