MayDay: Emergency Preparedness Basics

Wednesday, May 1, 2024 | 12:00 noon - 1:00 PM
Zoom

Though we try not to think about it, disasters do happen, and the best defense is to be prepared! Join members of COSTEP, Connecticut's Coordinated Statewide Emergency Preparedness team, to kick off MayDay, an annual campaign to encourage collecting institutions to undertake emergency planning activities in the month of May. You'll learn about what can happen when disaster strikes, the essential things you can do to be prepared, and where to find resources to help ensure you and your organization are disaster-ready in the age of climate change. You'll also come away with templates for crafting your own emergency plan.

Speakers:

Kathy Craughwell-Varda, Director, Conservation ConneCTion & Founding Member of COSTEP

Tara Kennedy, Preservation Services Librarian, Yale University Library & Founding Member of COSTEP
